Get over the hero thing. My step-father is on this list. He may have been great as a soldier, but was a horrible human being. He beat my mother regularly and sexually assaulted my sister. He's dead now, thank God. There is more to life, and more to a man's character, than his ability to fight or go to war. Teach your son to be a good father and husband and stop playing army man. My respect for the military went down the drain the first time I saw him hit my mother. don't bother responding, I won't visit your site again.

Good point about not all these guys were "heroes" bur they were all humans for sure. Sorry for the story about your mother, having a triple cib does not give the right to be a horrible human being. Most these men were good soldiers, some were true heroes!

Way to slander the dead, anonymous.

My grandfather is on the list, and while he wasn't perfect, he was certainly a hero.

How does one add a missing name?

Both Evil and Good men enter the service. The vast majority are good or good to moderately good. And as in all societies, there are a small number of bad and even evil men. But, should you believe you have an opinion on a man who has served in combat, first consider that experience. What levels of hell did have to endure? Any? Some? How would that have caused change to him? Repeated exposure to combat is always detrimental to one’s mind. The more experienced, the more damaged. Almost all rules are eventually broken or at least witnessed over time with repeated exposure. I am an awardee of 3 CIB. I have chosen repeatedly over my life to choose mora rightness, justice and truthfulness. But, over time, as a warrior I have had to break many rules to achieve the most important things (mission & Soldiers). Take care when judging a warrior. You live a comfortable safe life because of thier sacrifice. Avoid being an armchair general.
